Laura giving some welly Laura James - vocals
Laura has had always had a passion for all things vocal and artistic, so singing comes naturally. Laura shares song writing duties with JD, and starts the lyrics off simply as poems then crafts them around a melody or a groove and as if by magic a song begins to appear. Listen to the lyrics in Supersexyfunkytronic to hear the poetry in motion, and see if you can figure out the story
Laura works by night as a disco diva in many cover bands, mainly Bootie and the Ho fish, and Wefunk. Coupled with a passion for jazz singers such Ella Fitzgerald, her vocals lines create a mix of the interest of jazz and the rawness of catchy funk grooves. Laura - Biog 2
JD - altogether now "Aww" JD – guitar and occasional backing vocals
Raised in the beautiful village of Croydon (which lies in the south of a place called London town), JD learnt to play guitar from a mish mash of influences including the Layla album by Derek + the Dominoes and Appetite for destruction by GnR. In the past few years he has become an established guitar tutor in Bath and has spread more into jazz from listening to guitarists such as Joe Pass, Wes Montgomery + Jim Hall.

JD tackles most of the music writing in the group, combining a melange of wah-wah pedals, funk riffs and the odd rock solo for good measure. As a child, ‘..a bowl of Coco Pops, a duvet and Thundercats on the TV…’ seemed to make life complete. It couldn’t get any better. Then guitars and the world of music opened up... JD - taking photos
After spending far too much time in various cover bands JD was bored shitless, and so with song writing partner Laura James, they set themselves on a mission to write their own tunes, basically to bring back the funk for a new generation. Favourite colour: Blue.
Pete G Pete G- bass
Pete is our first member of the drum and bass section. He slaps one mean mutha fucker of a bass. He is a player bursting with energy and when he plays he sweats pure funk. Pete is the only band member to actually partake in a game of Roshambo (see urban dictionary if you’re unsure of the definition).
You can hear more of Pete’s work in bands like The Mandibles and Inzani Project. Pete's favourite snack is a packet of cooked meat (preferably hand-carved) - his favourite noble gas is boron.
Mcfly
Mcfly is our hitman completing the drum and bass section of the band. An experienced drummer who plays in several bands (www.bathandbristolmusic.co.uk) including Soulpod. He also runs his own drum school – the Rhythm Machine - and practices the Rhythm Method. He is undoubtedly the best drummer in the world*. Not just a skin basher, he also runs his own recording studio and engineered and produced all the FBB studio tracks.
Marty wearing Afro
